Hmm, hmm, hmm...

Isn't it funny how the things you thought were terribly important are no longer important at all? Or the things that gave you the most stress are the things that give you the least stress now? Case in point: eating lunch by your lonesome. How terrible was this during middle school & high school. Now, it doesn't matter. Who gives a rats if you're eating alone, really, but it's still terribly important to have some sort of eating-alone-kit - like a newspaper or a book or something you have to work/read/stare at diligently. And porn is out of the question - you can't be eating alone AND reading porn. In public. That's a big social no-no.

I've been thinking an awful lot about class and Sex and the City. Mostly because the class system is full-on in-check in New York City, but also because so many people have fully embraced these characters, although most of us do not have the same lifestyle (nor will ever get to the point where we will have that lifestyle). And while it's reassuring to think of poor-little-rich-girl Charlotte, we often forget that she's a damn millionaire on the show. And that the rock on her finger was enough to put a down payment on Carrie Bradshaw's illustrious apartment... but it's nice to think that Charlotte is the hopeless romantic while being hopelessly rich. And that everybody wants something beyond their means.
